As part of the British Food Fortnight, Barty payed tribute to the men and women of the 1940’s. The team sent the home back in time, decorating the dining room with flags, sand backs and the team even dressed up as land girls! The residents were able to reminisce about a time gone by when many of them would have been just children.
Jonathan, the head chef cooked up a 1940’s menu of Egg and Sausage pie and an eggless ginger cake with mock cream, all of which was enjoyed.
The outfits the staff wore provoked memories and conversation amongst the residents. The day was rounded off with a 1940’s quiz and carrot scones served with cream and strawberry jam.
Put simply, just another happy Barty day!
