Barty’s answer to Crufts
Barty House welcomed our four legged friends to our first fun Dog Show! Staff, residents’ families and locals brought their dogs and their sense of humour, making it a day we’ll all remember fondly!
Barty residents cheered and clapped as their favourites paraded around our indoor show ring. We had traditional classes like Best Dog and Best Bitch and also, some fun classes, like Musical Sits.
This was a canine take on the party favourite, musical bumps or musical statues. When the music stopped, the last dog to sit was out, with the last remaining dog being the winner. It was a highly contested class and certainly the loudest in terms of volume from our spectators! As one might expect, given the setting, the Veteran Class was also very popular!
Seven-year-old Summer Sundborg won the Junior Handler top prize, exhibiting her dog Teddy, showing great skill and sensitivity as she put Teddy through his paces. Frankie, an eighteen month old Dachshund scooped the Best Coat prize and the Champion, Best in Show prize.
We are very much looking forward to Barty’s next fun dog show and would like to thank everyone who made it such a special day!
