Bringing together the generations
There is no sight or sound more pleasurable than that generated by a roomful of excited little children full of life and laughter to brighten your day.
On Tuesday 3rd of October, Barty opened its door to a delightful group of pre-school children brimming with enthusiasm for a shared musical playtime session with the residents. The children were impeccably well behaved with the sort of open minded acceptance that comes naturally to the young. Without hesitation they settled into their new surroundings and shared their toys, musical instruments and smiles with the residents who were all thrilled to spend time with the little ones.
It was without doubt a magical experience, as the old folk sang along with the children joining in the marvellous musical playtime session hosted by Paula Ray. The morning was particularly special for resident Audrey who was very proud to spend time with her granddaughter Emily (who was one of the childminders), Audrey joined in the adventure and looked on with pride seeing her granddaughter at work.
The first of hopefully many future visits by the children was rounded off with a story time, a drink and a biscuit, some of the children then sat on the decking in the sunshine for some lunch. Jude Coveney Head of Activities will now work with Emily to organise the next visit for the children to come back to Barty, and would like to send a big thank you to Emily Sims, Paula Ray and all the childminders and children for a special and memorable morning.
