Lavender Craft Day

The residents garden has several well established Lavender Bushes, that Richard did a good job of pruning earlier in the year. The beautiful summer sunshine has meant that we have had a bumper crop of wonderful scented lavender, that has looked glorious and the bees have loved.

Residents’ Sunflowers in Barty’s Courtyard

Sunflowers planted by our residents are now standing tall in our Courtyard Garden, having grown brilliantly over the summer. They now tower above us all, and are always a talking point when people come to visit.

Barty Buddies Support Group

Barty Buddies is a Resident Family Support Group initiative started by Sheila Longley, who is the wife of David, a resident at the home.

Sheila is frequently at Barty House spending time with David and as such has become an established part of daily life here.

Ballroom Dancing Performance

Recently our activities team asked residents about their previous hobbies and interests, with a view to organising events that cater to them directly and will be enjoyed by the majority. An overwhelming favourite answer was dancing, and with that in mind we invited a local dance academy to come and perform.
