Something old to Something new
The residents at Barty were crafty this week and busied themselves deconstructing jewellery and recycling it into little works of art. The old costume jewellery was taken apart and used to decorate little wooden trinket boxes, which the residents then personalised. Some of them were made especially to give away as gifts.
The craft session was a real talking point and enjoyed by all and required considerable concentration and manual dexterity skills. Barbara made a box for herself and her granddaughter who was so impressed whilst assisting the residents, went on to make another one for her Nan. Lucky lady!
If you have any old costume jewellery that is no longer wanted, the Activities Team at Barty House would greatly appreciate the donation, as they have some creative ideas for Christmas presents!
