Care Jobs in Eastbourne buck Economic Trend

Job hunters are being urged to contact a care service that wants to expand to meet demand.

Canford Healthcare Group is in the rare position of taking on more staff while other industries hit by recession are cutting jobs. As part of Canford Healthcare, Pentlow Community Care provides services ranging from shopping for its clients to helping with household chores, and wants to take on more staff.

Manager Bob Mulvey of Old Town-based Pentlow Community Care said: “Increased manpower will mean we can reach more people in need of support with daily tasks. With more and more people choosing to opt for care support in their own homes, we certainly have the capacity for more staff.”

With Canford, full and part time hours are available for home care workers. These are for early mornings, evening and weekend shifts. Training is given, so it adds to an applicant’s CV from the word go.

Inglewood Nursing Home in Hampden Park, also part of Canford Healthcare, has a vacancy for a daytime Registered General Nurse and for a healthcare assistant, who will receive training that can lead to an NVQ. Pentlow Nursing Home, also part of the Canford group, has recently advertised for care staff, too.
