Care Home Open Day
Every year, care homes across the country open their doors to the local community for Care Home Open Day to connect with the local community across all generations. This year it also coincided with the Queen’s Birthday, so with an extra touch of royalty, we were excited to host a very special day.
Our morning started off with a royal family quiz in which all the residents fully enjoyed, and there was a little team game with points which they enjoyed as it brought out a bit of competitiveness! The afternoon then followed with a very British afternoon tea with various pastries and tea in our fine China which everyone enjoyed!
We were then thoroughly entertained by a fantastic dance group of children that specialised in Bollywood dance, the residents really enjoyed the music and in particular Mark who played some classical tunes on his guitar. Residents, family and friends joined in with the music, and even took to the dance floor to show off their moves! The day was rounded off with more cakes and pastries followed by some Indian classics to tie in with our Bollywood dancers. It was a wonderful day, and we would like to say a big thank you to all that made it a memorable day.
