Chinese Calligraphy

In the run up to Chinese New Year, residents had a go at Chinese calligraphy for the very first time! Many were adventurous in tackling the most intricate of Chinese script called kaishu.

Writing the characters for the words “heaven”, “cloud”, “mountain” and “music/happiness”, they had great fun copying and practising each brush stroke with an easy to follow demonstration.

It was a wonderful introduction to this ancient form of Chinese art, with some residents saying they would like to do it again sometime!
