Christmas Day at Inglewood

Christmas is always a lovely time at Inglewood, with the home decorated from top to toe, parties planned, festive activities and yummy buffets prepped, it truly is a wonderful time of year to spend time with those that you love.

The day begins with the residents greeting each other in the lounge, enjoying a cup of tea or coffee, and opening their cards or presents with each other. This usually involves admiring the huge table that has been laid ready for lunch, with crackers, an elegant tablecloth and serviettes. There is of course a visit from the ‘man in the red suit’, who greets each resident and gives them a special present, wishing them a very Merry Christmas as he goes!

Midday brings a glass of one’s desired tipple, be it sherry, or a G&T as some of the ladies requested! A three course meal, with all of the trimmings, is then served, crackers are pulled, hats are worn, and everybody has a jolly good time. At 3pm we all gather around the TV to watch the Queen’s Speech, with tea and Christmas cake, and finally, start to relax as the day winds down slightly. Later in the evening comes a buffet supper of delicious finger food.

Christmas Day is a special time for us all here at Inglewood, whether you are young or old, it’s a magical time of year.
