On Sunday 25th June, Maples held its first memorial service of thanksgiving and remembrance. Local vicar Sue and assistant Jo, led the service, both of whom are regular visitors to the home.
Family and friends of residents who had passed in the past year were invited to the home to remember their loved ones. Everyone joined in on the short service of prayers, lit candles of remembrance and were invited to place a heart with their relative/friend on the memorial wall.
Tea and a beautiful hand-made cake was then served to all visitors, with many relatives taking time out to visit other residents on each unit to say hello.
A wonderful afternoon filled with memories of those residents the home has lost, they will always be remembered.
