All things French!
Over the month of July residents at Maples have been looking at all things French, to coincide with Le Tour de France. From learning the language, creating works of art and trying different food and drink!
July has begun with French lessons from a local teacher, called Steffi Morgan. Residents and staff worked together to call out the numbers and small words they remembered, and the morning finished with everyone singing Frere Jacques!
A beautiful summers day set up the next activity wonderfully, with mocktails on the menu. The Mocktail cart visited all the residents, where they picked out their own mixes and finished it off with fresh mint, rosemary and strawberries from the garden.
Residents then turned their attention to French art, particularly looking at Matisse and his decoupage, who changed his ways of working due to a disability. Everyone began tearing up colourful paper, which then they stuck onto an outline of flowers. All the creations will be added to the homes very own Mattisse wall, so keep an eye out in the home for the display!
