50’s & 60’s Macmillan Coffee Morning
Mayflower Care Home has been celebrating the wonderful eras of the 50’s and 60’s, with residents enjoying some arts and crafts creating fantastic murals to line of the corridors of the home. With flower power creations and music inspired decorations, the home was ready to have a party!
The celebrations of the week all led into a 50’s and 60’s party on Friday 29th September, which was also the homes Macmillan coffee morning. Staff dressed accordingly and grooved their way into the 60’s, with fab outfits that the residents loved. The day was made even more memorable with Mayflower’s very own Liz braving the shave for the charity. The nerves for Liz was felt across the home, and everyone cheered her on when the hairdresser started to cut away her long locks!
Liz raised an incredible £414.00 for the charity – well done Liz, an amazing thing to do!
Now it was time to party! Residents and staff boogied away on the dance floor, to 50’s and 60’s classics. Then after all that dancing, staff and residents enjoyed some tasty homemade milkshakes, topped off with squirty cream and a straw – of course!
