A Right Royal Puzzle at Barty House

It has taken the residents a little over a month, with a great deal of help of from anyone passing through Barty House conservatory, but our Royal puzzle was finally completed. Sadly after all that effort and hard work the puzzle is now back in it’s box, and a new puzzle has taken pride of place in the conservatory.

Pet Pals & Easter Weekend at Inglewood

Pet Pals

Bleating and baaing could be heard throughout Inglewood Nursing Home as Sarah from Pet Pals brought in two little lambs. To everyone surprise and amusement the lambs were wearing babies nappies for understandable reasons! Those who wanted to had the chance to bottle feed the lambs and also stroke them and see them up close. Both lambs were curious and gave much spring joy during their visit.

Alex Eberhard Performance at Inglewood

Residents at Inglewood in Eastbourne enjoyed an afternoon of live music performed by singer Alex Eberhard, a talented guitarist who played classic songs such as Blue Moon, Diner, Anything Goes, I Only Have Eyes for You and Unforgettable. Residents were invited to join in and sing along. A relaxing afternoon followed by afternoon tea.

Maypole Dancers at Barty House

The children from Hollingbourne Primary School visited Barty House on Wednesday 10th May to showcase their wonderful maypole dancing routine, much to the delight of the residents and staff.

The coloured ribbons weaved there way cleverly around the pole as the children danced in and out of one another excitedly.

Barty Arms Public House

Saturday 13th May saw the opening of the ‘Barty Arms’ in the Willow Lounge. Residents arrived in their droves to participate in traditional pub games such as cards, shut the box and dominoes, not withstanding the lure of the free bar.

Blooming Beautiful at Barty

There is nothing that can compare with feeling soil between your fingertips and under your nails, not having a care for the mess but simply enjoying the moment whilst gardening. Again this year at Barty House in Maidstone, we have created our own glorious hanging baskets to adorn the walls of the residents’ Court Yard Garden, and once again they look blooming beautiful.

Elvis Night at Willows

Elvis night took place at Willows Care Home in Romford on Saturday 13th May, 7pm-9pm. It was an event that took place in January and the resident’s requested that it take place again as they enjoyed it so much. Family members joined us and the room was buzzing with enthusiasm and excitement for the 2 hours that ” Elvis ” sang.
