Case of Memories
Pentlow Nursing Home residents and staff were very lucky to receive a special delivery from The Royal Nursing college. The box contained an old Leather doctors bag that was full of different pieces of equipment that may have been seen at a doctors surgery in the 1950’s.
The Activities team soon decided a role-play afternoon was just the thing to use this very special box, and they transformed lounge area int a 1950’s doctor’s surgery that consisted of a waiting room, reception and GP’s room. Agnes (Activities Coordinator) acted as receptionist, Denise (Quality & training coordinator) became the doctor, Trevor (mini bus driver) was a patient and residents Joyce and Fred also become patients!
Everyone dressed the part and got ready to go and see Dr Stilton. This activity was great fun for all involved and brought a lot of laughter and seriousness from the Doctor.
This activity was a fantastic way to include reminiscence, conversation and visual excitement to the home.
