Pentlow Picnic at Herstmonceux Castle

Pentlow residents visit local castle

On a lovely Summer’s Day, some of our residents, accompanied by staff, visited Herstmonceux Castle and had a picnic in the castle grounds.

Kitchen staff at Pentlow prepared wonderful picnic food for us all, which we then enjoyed eating out in the sun in the grounds, taking in all the wonderful scenery of the 300 acre estate.

As well as the picnic, we enjoyed walking around the castle and its gardens, looking at all the brilliant statues and sculptures.

The castle is one of the earliest examples of a brick built building in England, and residents love to see local history sites like this.

We’ve had some great activities and events this summer, for example our Summer Tea Party and when we held our weekly YMCA class outside
