Summer Carnival Fete
On Saturday 5th August, Pentlow Nursing Home entertained residents, relatives, friends, family and even Eastbourne’s Mayor and MP Stephen Lloyd with their Carnival themed Summer Fete! The garden was transformed with colourful balloons and bunting and the BBQ was ready to go with burgers and hot dogs.
There were games for the young, and the old to get involved with, from hook a duck to tin can alley, find the key and pick a lolly. One very lucky visitor won the large jar of sweets, and there was also a chance to have your very own portrait done, by local artist Tom Barbour. However, the main attraction was to see people in the stocks being soaked with wet sponges.
Everyone was kept entertained throughout the day, with live music from entertainment company Full Beam Productions. Regular visitors to the home, the team performed their popular ‘Fiesta’ show, that got everyone dancing and toe tapping along.
The fete also played host to another celebration, with resident Fred turning 98 years of age. With presents, cake and family, it was a wonderful chance for everyone to celebrate.
The Summer Fete, is an annual event at Pentlow and a fantastic opportunity to get residents, friends, family and the local community together. Offering the chance for people to enjoy the sunshine, have fun and make new friends.
