Care Home Open Day 2017
To mark National Care Home Open Day on Friday 16th June, Canford Healthcare Homes across the country opened their doors to the public.
Willows Care Home organised an information afternoon for residents, relatives and healthcare professionals. Ciaran White from the charity Mind, and Debbie Bailey, a health champion from charity Tapestry, provided advice to residents and relatives about mental health in older people, as well as answer peoples questions.
There was also a chance to relax, with Reiki sessions from therapist Liz Sullivan offering head and foot massages to residents and relatives. Local school, Crowlands primary who visit Willows Care Home regularly also joined residents on the day, with pupils helping to serve tea and cake in the garden.
Everyone who attended enjoyed the event as it was also an opportunity to showcase the brand-new care facilities at the home, the team at Willows did all they could to make their visitors feel welcome.
