Wellgate Community Farm

Residents, relatives, friends and family enjoyed an afternoon visit from Wellgate community farm. With the overwhelming positive response from their last visit, the team had to invite them again.

The gardens at Willows was transformed into a mini farm, with miniature cows, chickens, guinea pigs, baby ducks (just 3 weeks old), sheep and kids. This was a chance to get up close to all the animals from Wellgate, bringing all the residents and relatives together in the garden.

Wellgate Community Farm began its life in 1982, set up purely by volunteers as a project, encouraging local participation in all aspects of the Farm’s activity. Now offering the chance to bring the farm to local care homes, schools and organisations, the farm shares their love and commitment of these wonderful farm animals to their community.
