Over the last few years we have been finalists in the Residential Care Provider category three times. We have also been finalists in the IT Innovator category for the last three years running and our Mayflower Care Home was shortlisted for the Specialist Care Provider category in 2022.
Finalist:In 2022 our Mayflower Care Home in Gravesend was a finalist in the Specialist Provider of the Year category because of its expertise in dementia care. Our awards submission talked about our person-centred dementia care, of which training, nutrition and wellness are the main elements. We described these in some detail, and also documented how our innovative care as a whole contributes to better outcomes for our residents.
Our most recent entry in the Residential Care Provider category described how technology facilitates how we give care, how staff do their jobs and receive information and training. We described how we use it to promote the best possible person-centred care using a series of products and apps that promote greater safety and free up staff to spend more quality time with residents. The likes of Smart Tables are a versatile and colourful addition to our activities programmes, enabling residents to enjoy ‘traditional’ games such as hockey, bingo or draughts as well as access information, pictures or music.
