Winner:Debbie Inkersole, our Operations Manager, triumphed over many other entrants to win the Care Operations/Area Manager Award in 2021.
Debbie oversees the management of six of our residential and nursing homes, with 550 staff and over 400 residents. The judges were impressed by the breadth of Debbie’s responsibilities and the strength of her leadership skills. During the pandemic she regularly visited her homes (according to Government regulations) to ensure that each followed infection control procedures. She provided unwavering and selfless support to her managers and staff, helping them to reassure concerned relatives who were unable to visit their loved ones.
Finalists:
Donald Morris has been at Mayflower Care Home for ten years, working his way up through Assistant Practitioner to Clinical Support, currently, where he’s responsible for the night team. Don was a finalist in the Care Leadership category and was one of three finalists from across our homes to be shortlisted in 2023. The others were Mayflower Care Assistant/Quality Lead Trevor Francis, who was selected as a finalist in the Carer category and Ashridge Court Care Centre’s Head of Housekeeping, Derek Tilley, who reached the final of the Housekeeper category. All three faced stiff competition and did extremely well to get so far.
