Since training as a nurse in Wolverhampton, Caron has worked in many health and social care settings for over 35 years. Specialising in residential, nursing and dementia care, she is currently an Operations Manager for Canford Healthcare, with responsibility for five care homes in London and the south-east. In 2021 Caron became a Queen’ Nurse and, in 2022, received the Chief Nursing Officer for Adult Social Care Gold Award, both as a recognition of her outstanding contribution to nursing to date.
Along with various other professional memberships, Caron is part of the Chief Nursing Officer-Adult Social Care (CNO-ASC) Nursing and Care Advisory Group and a member of the Chief Nursing Officer – Adult Social Care (CNO-ASC) Covid-19 Legacy Social Care Group, raising the profile of professionalism and resilience in the social care sector and sharing best practice during the pandemic.
Caron is also the author of Amazon best-seller Behind The Smiles, a no-holds barred exploration of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and its impact on individuals and families, based on her personal experiences. She has studied PTSD and is a member of International Trauma Informed Care Networks.
