Laird is a highly successful and motivated executive who has accumulated a great deal of practical experience of transforming private sector operations into profitable businesses. He is a strategic thinker with a particular knowledge and understanding of change and project management, motivational leadership, rebranding, business positioning and revenue growth. Laird also holds an MBA from the Open University.
Before joining Canford Healthcare in November 2018, Laird held senior operations roles within companies in the highly competitive printing and courier delivery companies, spending the first 11 years of his working life in the Royal Air Force, both here in the UK and abroad. He also spent eight years as the Managing Director of Caring Homes and a Trustee and Board Member of Care England. During this time, Laird also gained considerable insights into the wider health and social care, learning and development and mental health sectors.
In his time with Canford Healthcare Laird has overseen the successful transformation of the operational running and support of the company’s portfolio of homes. Under his leadership, the organisation has become more streamlined, agile and responsive – better able to weather the many challenges facing the industry, including the Covid-19 pandemic.
