Birthday break

In addition to the usual paid holiday, we offer a day’s paid leave on or around our employees’ birthday.

This scheme offers access to hundreds of high-street discounts from a variety of retailers and services including fashion, DIY, travel, cafés and restaurants, entertainment, health and beauty.

Competitive pay

Wherever possible, we pay above the National Minimum Wage and review salaries at least once a year, benchmarking ourselves against other similar employers. We pay generous overtime rates and also provide easy-to understand electronic payslips via our online employee self-service account. Eligible staff are automatically enrolled into our pension scheme which the company contributes to each month.

Employee Assistance Programme (EAP)

This free, confidential 24/7 external service offers expert advice, practical assistance, specialist counselling and emotional support to help deal with major life events that cause stress.

Employee referral scheme

We offer a financial reward to staff who refer a friend or family member and they take up an offer of employment with us.

Family-friendly policies

Our policies include maternity, paternity, adoption, shared parental and paid compassionate leave, as well as discretionary enhanced long-term sick pay. Staff with 26 weeks’ continuous service can request a change in their working pattern to work more flexibly.

Generous holiday entitlement

Unless otherwise stated, staff are entitled to 5.6 weeks’ annual holiday per year, or the pro-rata equivalent for part timers.

Life assurance

We look after our employees’ loved ones, should the worst happen, via a lumpsum benefit payable if they pass away while employed by us.

Long-service milestones

We celebrate particular anniversary milestones via thank you letters and long-service pins, with additional rewards for long servers of 25 years and more.

Paid-for security checks

We apply and pay for Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) security checks before an employee starts with us.

Professional subscriptions

We also pay subscription fees if someone’s role requires them to join a professional register, such as the Nursing & Midwifery Council (NMC).

Looking after our staff

All year round we provide free drinks and refreshments at our homes and support offices. We also organise seasonal events, such as Christmas parties or summer BBQs and, provide staff with gifts.

We provide access to continuous professional development, via on-the job training and supervision as well as support while staff work towards industry-recognised care qualifications.

Uniforms

Our uniforms are colour coded and, depending on the role, we provide free uniform tunics for staff who need them.
