Staff, residents, families and supporters of Inglewood Nursing Home have donated £400 to St Wilfrid’s Hospice.
The money was collected during our summer fayre, and were the proceeds of the always popular ‘hook a duck’, ‘tin can alley’ and skittles stalls, as well as the sale of jewellery, crafts, refreshments and other items.
Rani Raju, our home manager, invited Dave Longman, St Wilfrid’s Corporate Community Fundraiser, to the home recently to receive the cheque. Dave also joined residents for a tasty and refreshing afternoon tea with home-made cakes.
Dave said: “It is great when businesses within the community raise vital funds for the hospice. The hospice costs around £21,000 a day to run and we must raise more than 70% ourselves, as less than 30% now comes from the NHS. We are grateful to Inglewood Nursing Home for choosing us as their chosen charity for their summer fayre.”
Rani added: “Here at Inglewood, we are always impressed with the care and support that St Wilfrid’s gives to people in such difficult circumstances. Hospices provide a hugely valuable service to the local community, and we are lucky that we have St Wilfrid’s Hospice so close to us.”
