Since 2019 administrator Tracey Jansen has been a cornerstone of efficiency and reliability here at Hampton Care Home. Her unwavering dedication to our home and residents earned her a nomination for the Great British Care Awards’ Ancillary Award earlier this year.
Tracey is known for her exceptional organisational and problem-solving skills and calm, unflappable demeanour, even in a crisis. Her ability to handle complex challenges with grace and determination has earned her widespread admiration here at Hampton and across Canford Healthcare, our parent company. When the home’s IT system failed, Tracey diligently completed her tasks manually while overseeing the system’s repair, ensuring that the disruption had a minimal impact on residents and staff.
Similarly, when the home’s heating system broke down, she stepped in to organise repairs in the absence of a facilities co-ordinator. Her efforts in both instances drew praise from our chief executive Brian Cooney who said: “Thank you for your additional support and dedication at Hampton. You have been amazing!”
Tracey is often called upon to support administrators in other Canford Healthcare homes, too. She is described by Justyna Kirihettige Don, Hampton’s home manager, as “an administrator, IT guru, and DIY expert all in one.” Her willingness to step into any role, paired with her exceptional competence, makes her an invaluable team member.
Her dedication extends beyond administrative tasks. She is highly regarded by residents and their families for being approachable and friendly as well as efficient. Whether answering questions or addressing concerns, Tracey always takes the time to ensure that families feel heard and supported. One resident’s daughter expresses her gratitude by saying: “Tracey is such an asset to the home. She has a very good understanding of Hampton and its facilities and always deals competently with administrative issues.”
During the pandemic, Tracey worked hard to keep families informed about national and NHS directives, which helped to ensure peace of mind during a challenging time. This was greatly appreciated. “Tracey dealt with everything during the pandemic in a very professional manner, keeping us informed of situations and changes,” said another relative.
Whether managing administrative issues, IT challenges or facilities emergencies, Tracey tackles every situation with determination and poise. She is so much more than an administrator – she is a trusted problem solver, a can-do colleague, a compassionate ally and an essential part of our community here at Hampton.
